Pumpkin Seed Project

Heiniger's Second Graders
Mrs. Heiniger's second graders participated in The Pumpkin Seed Counting Project. The project started with a little pumpkin weighing only 3.5 pounds. Students estimated how many seeds the pumpkin contained. They measured and weighed it. Then in their groups they counted the number of seeds in the pumpkin. Then Mrs. Heiniger brought in something called a "Ghost Pumpkin." Students again estimated and counted the seeds. They came to the computer lab and graphed the number of seeds in each pumpkin, and each student made a KidPix slide show about what they learned. We hope you enjoy their projects!
