What is Title I?
  • Federally funded
  • Helps students who are falling behind academically or who are at risk
  • Based on the number of students eligible for free and reduced lunch in a school
  • Funds are used for hiring teachers, purchasing materials and supplies, parental involvement activities, professional development opportunities, pre-kindergarten programs, etc  

How are students chosen for Title I?
  • Classroom teachers assess students reading levels and pre-reading skills
  • Title I teachers assess students with additional reading assessments
  • Students are given point values based on their performance
  • Students with the highest point levels are eligible for Title I services
  • Classroom teachers and Title I teachers discuss eligible students and possible instructional times

Title I Lesson Framework
  • 30 minute pull-out for grades K-5
  • 5 days per week
  • 8 groups a day
  • Benchmark materials (primarily non-fiction) used for K-2nd grade, Wild Cats for 3rd grade & Fast Track for 4th-5th grades


Parent Involvement Meetings
  • We provide parent workshops 4 times or more throughout the year
  • Please plan on attending our future PAC meetings on...
    • January 24th - Make and Take Activities and Games
    • March 13th - Math Night
    • May 30th - Tracks 1 & 4 Celebration
    • June 13th - Tracks 2 & 3 Celebration
